Jim Littlejohn

Jim Littlejohn is an educational equity consultant and a former director for the Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education. He is an expert on issues related to equal educational opportunity for limited-English proficiency (LEP) students. He has 30 years of experience working on civil rights issues in education at the federal, state, district and classroom levels.

Mr. Littlejohn is currently available to assist school districts in assessing civil rights policies and practices and developing civil rights management plans as part of an overall educational improvement strategy. He serves as an expert witness and consultant to school districts involved in civil rights litigation providing sound analysis and recommendations that meet legitimate federal and state requirements. His expertise enables him to identify and challenge pseudo-legalistic requirements imposed by outside agencies and organizations and to provide a strong voice for local educational interests.
