Notes: SHA is the first album where Queen begins to explore music stylistically. It is a very schizophrenic album; no two songs sound alike. It's easy to tell it's all the same musicians, but this album runs from plain rock (Brighton Rock, Now I'm Here) to folkish rock (Misfire) and camp (Bring Back That Leroy Brown) and grand, sweeping orchestrated songs (Lily of the Valley, In the Lap of the Gods). A brilliant album. Technically stunning. Killer Queen, one of their bigger hits, is one of the early examples of May's emerging "wall of guitar" manipulations and overlapping harmonies.
