About Us

Lightspann Illumination Design, Inc. is a design and fabrication studio which provides custom artistic lighting fixtures. We specialize in design for residential, hospitality, and commercial applications, using quality materials, and state of the art lamping and code specifications. Our clients include lighting designers, interior designers, architects, restaurant and homeowners. Environments have included corporate headquarters, health care facilities, restaurants, hotels, country clubs, and private residences.

Our work emphasizes glass, but also incorporates metals and painted surfaces, each of which is fully customized according to client needs. Glass treatments include: cast, carved, slumped, blown, pate du verre, leaded, and laminated. Metal and painted surfaces include: cast, forged, hammered, patina finishes, and the illusion of stressed metal.

We work closely with each of our clients to assure that the fixtures become an integral part of the interior or exterior environment. This goal is best realized with collaboration between us and our clients, whether they are interior designers, architects, or owners. We will customize for special sizing, lamping, and installation requirements.

Christina Spann founded Lightspann in 1991 after designing, selling and marketing glass materials for 12 years. In 1975 Christina received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting & Drawing from Arizona State University, and completed graduate work in Printmaking at the University of California at Santa Barbara. She discovered the glass arts in 1977.
