Pattersons career began at Dayton Ohios
WVUD-FM in 1965, and in the years that followed, he
has distinguished himself as one of the
industrys most likable and versatile
professionals. A superb interviewer with an excellent
command of the English language, Ted has published
four books thus far, and has excelled in broadcasting
at both the local and network levels.
As a newsman, Ted Patterson spent
many successful years covering the scene for WPOC-FM
in Baltimore. His accomplishments in the world of
sports set him far apart from the pack. A
play-by-play veteran, Teds resume includes
nearly every professional sport--baseball,
basketball, football, hockey and soccer. Through the
years, hes been behind the mic for the
Baltimore Orioles, Blast and Spirit, Washington
Senators, and Cleveland Cavaliers and Crusaders. At
the collegiate level, Teds provided basketball
play-by-play and color commentary for Towson
University and the U.S. Naval Academy, and was the
longtime voice of Navy Football. As if all of this
wasnt enough, Ted served as producer, writer
and coordinator of the NBC radio program Curt
Gowdys Inside Sports, and even managed to
squeeze in a couple of years with Armed Forces Radio
in the late 60s. His credentials and
awards speak for themselves; three-time winner of
Maryland Sportscaster of the Year, six-time winner of
the Chesapeake Associated Press Sportscaster of the
Year, and recipient of the Eclipse Award, presented
by the thoroughbred racing industry.
A graduate of the University of
Dayton with an advanced degree from Miami University,
Ted Patterson is second to none with regard to his
professionalism and easy-going manner. The Ted
