In an effort to better serve our customers, the FMCS home page includes an agencywide telephone directory as well as information about agency services. Currently, the FMCS Grant Application, the Mediator Recruitment Bulletin, Notice to Mediation Agency Form, and Arbitration Panel request forms are available online. The home page includes answers to questions frequently asked of Arbitration Services and Mediation Information Services, features several brochures about the agencys services and the most recent press releases. Also, you can find up to date information about the agencys 50th Anniversary online. Departments on the web site include Arbitration Services, the Directors Office, the Deputy Directors Office, Human Resources, International Affairs, and Mediation Information Services. The FMCS home page is a new outlet to assist the agency in improving customer service and to make information about the organization more accessible. Listening To What You Have To Say... Results of Customer Survey in Next Issue of Mediation Feedback from our customers is a key component of the Services effort to become a more customer-responsive agency. In late 1996, FMCS surveyed a representative sample of 1557 of our customers and potential customers. These names were drawn from the services data base of notice filings. Of the 1557 names in the sample, only those with direct experience with an FMCS mediator were surveyed. The survey was designed and administered by distinguished faculty from M.I.Ts Sloan School of Management and research professionals from the University of Massachusetts. The use of outside contractors in conducting the survey ensured confidentiality of the respondents and the credibility and the quality of the results. The survey results will provide a baseline of information about customer awareness of and attitudes toward the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service and its mediation process. Currently, the results of the survey are being analyzed by MIT and will be published in the next issue of Mediation.
