Noted in the illustration is a woman watching the troops move though holding an American flag. Historical records indicate that she was heard to say, "Oh, I wish he was ours". This detailed color drawing by Kinstler depicts Lee talking to Gen. Jeb Stuart, who finally arrived at Gettysburg on the evening of July 2nd. The cold greeting he received from Lee is reflected in Lees face as the General makes known his dissatisfaction with Stuarts late arrival at a time when he and his cavalry were most needed. This rare print of the panoramic photograph by George Lawrence of the great San Francisco fire and earthquake of April 19, 1906 is a true collectors item. The print includes naming of prominent structures such as the Union Trust Building and the Occidental Hotel. 11.00 Prints of the Federal City, c1856
Represented in these masterfully engraved prints are 13 of the most interesting federal landmarks as envisioned in 1856. The engravings represent original designs for buildings and monuments which differ in many cases from what you see today in Washington, D.C. Other were never built. An example is the Washington Monument, identified in the print as the "National Monument" representing the design of Robert Mills of South Carolina, a protégé of Thomas Jefferson; who was the first native-born professional American architect. The prints are not litho. but actual impressions taken from the copper engraving plates of the Albert Boschke Map of the City of Washington - Seat of Federal Government, dated 1857. Each print measures approximately 5" x 6" inches in size. There are only a very limited number of each of the offerings available. Each print includes embellishments at each of the four corners of the print representing some type of illustration in keeping with the print subject matter. Each print carries the following notation, "published by A. Boschke, entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1856 in the Clerks Office of the District of Columbia. Prints are available at $5.00 each, limited to not more than six (6) per order. They may be purchased framed in a gold color or mahogany finish solid wood, with glass, and matted , offered framed $20.00 each.

50.01 The White House
The residence of presidents is featured on this 29˘ U.S. stamp and cachet, commemorating two hundred years of the White House in Washington, D.C. The exterior walls, which are constructed of Virginia sandstone are painted white, causing the building to be named the "White House." Theodore Roosevelt made the name official. The original house was destroyed in the War of 1812. It was rebuilt in 1817. John Adams, featured on the cache, was the first president to live there. Wings on the west and east sides of the residence were added for executive offices in 1902 and 1942 respectively .$20. (Includes s/h)
50.02 Girl Scouts of America
This lovely U.S. 22˘ stamp on an engraved cachet features fourteen Girl Scout achievement badges. It commemorates the 75th Anniversary of Girl Scouts in the United States (1912-1987). The stamp designer made his selection for the stamp content from the Worlds to Explore Proficiency Badge series, which was initiated in 1980. The first "Girl Guide" troop, as the organization was originally known was founded in 1912 in Savannah, Georgia with 12 girls. A year later, the name of the organization was changed to the Girl Scouts of America. $20. (Includes s/h)
