Embark on a musical journey unlike any other on the air. Galactic Voyager is an intoxicating mix of music that goes beyond New Age to combine jazz, rock and classical into a whole new genre. Host Meishel Menachekanian plays masters of electronic music, from Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Mars Lasar to Mike Oldfield, Jan Hammer and Tangerine Dream, to artists like Enya and Loreena McKennitt, who woo listeners with the most primal instrument -the voice. More like a mood than a genre, the music of Galactic Voyager is hauntingly beautiful…and as much as it carries us to a brave new world, its glorious sounds connect us to the frontier within. TUESDAYS, 9-11 P.M.

Meishel Menachekanian

A graduate of CSUN with a B.A. in Communications, Meishal began working at KCSN as a volunteer in 1994. Before long he was off the pledge phones and in the booth as a host of Sarcastic Fringehead. He is often the voice behind Performance Today (weekdays 11-1) and carries classical music listeners from the NPR show into Mara's hands at 2pm. Every Tuesday evening he is the captain of Galactic Voyager - a show that carries listeners to the final frontier of music.
