"The distinctive sounds of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam will once again be reflected in the 2000 program. Riccardo Chailly, now in his second decade with the orchestra, continues to prove he is a worthy successor of Bernard Haitink in the Concertgebouw tradition. Ruth Dreier will return to host this magnificent 13-week series featuring outstanding soloists and conductors. The conductors include Riccardo Chailly, with piano soloists Maurizio Pollini and Martha Argerich and Bernard Haitink, with piano soloists Andras Schiff and Emmanuel Ax. American conductors David Zinman, Michael Tilson Thomas, Leonard Slatkin and Dennis Russell Davies will bring their vision and energy to the Concertgebouw as well." |
