But is there just one magic code that, once cracked, will unleash wave upon wave of high morale and motivation? Maybe yes, maybe no — and perhaps a little of both. We know, without question, that being motivated and having high morale helps produce greater levels of performance and richer "brain storms" of ideas and possibilities.

Yet while we respond to external stimuli, and as a result enjoy high spirits and bursts of motivation, it's also true that the spark of both resides within us. We can't make someone else be motivated, nor can we demand high morale from someone else. Both motivation and morale are born internally, stemming from personal beliefs, visions, callings, and definitions of what we value and what seems meaningful to us.
